The sun was shining for the last league game of the season. Joseph was captain and the goalkeeping duties were shared between Jake, Caleb, Samuel and Josh. In the first quarter the Lions started off the brightest and took an early lead (0-1). The Sharks began to get more into the game and battled hard for the rest of the quarter without scoring. The 2nd quarter the Sharks started getting their shots in and Joseph equalised with a well struck goal from outside the area (1-1). With continued pressure the Sharks took the lead with the goal of the day. Joseph cleared up the field to Jake who flicked the ball on to Zachary who despatched the ball into the net (2-1). Jake and Zachary had further chances saved by the Lions keeper. Jake then got a goal with a well taken penalty into the roof of the net (3-1). As the quarter ended the Lions pulled one back (3-2). Quarter 3 was a close affair with both teams battling in midfield, without creating many chances. Samuel in goal was twice quick off the line to prevent the Lions from shooting. However late in the quarter Lions got an equaliser (3-3). Final quarter it was anyone's game and Josh made a great save to keep the scores level. Both teams were beginning to tire, but it was the Sharks who finished the strongest. Samuel struck a shot from outside the area which was saved onto the cross bar. Their keeper was also on hand to save from a one on one with Joseph. As a result the game ended in a well fought 3-3 draw.
